Hi people.
We're going out to watch "Those who can't,teach" on Thursday. For those who are interested in going, please give your name to me by tuesday okay. We will be meeting after school at the canteen right away school. No lunch time please. The show lasts about 2hours with an intermission in between. This show is really nice according to people who watched it before. In conclusion, it's nice and highly encouraged to go.
This is not a school event, just a self enrichment kind of thing.

You guys paid $25 for 2 shirts and the 1st one you received is $10 so hopefully this is $15.
Ang Guan is getting the price sort out so here's the design for now.
Oh, and the reason that it is grey cause we tried many other colours and they looked horrible.
If there is any strong objections or you don't like the design or anything at all you can let me know. (:

OH MY GOSH, Kenneth thanks so much for typing here for information and everything for the past weeks. I've not been here in weeks... :/

And of course now that we have stepped down officially, I have things to say. Today I didn't say it to everyone cause I was too emotional. But first, of course have to talk about Radix first.

RADIX!!

It was a success!!! :D I think everyone loved drama's performance. This proves one thing, all of you people were good. Firstly, we have to thank William for the props making and taking care of the music, lights and the powerpoint slides. And of course, everyone who came back during the school holidays to make the trees, the bricks, MRT etc.
Secondly, all the people who aren't on stage. Eunice, Jaspreet, Clara, Clarice, Adeline, Debbie, Larissa, Michelle! I think they all have put in a lot of work to make this show possible.
Eunice and Jaspreet, always searching for us when we run off. They always give us the cue to go in and guide us through everything. As long as we are unsure, we can go to them.
Clara and Clarice for the sound and powerpoint slides! The sound always came correctly and she has to listen to us every time we act. The powerpoint slides/videos for some of the scenes together with choir. It's all timing.
And also Adeline, who has recorded her voice countless times to make it perfect. And helping out with the lights/sounds (I'm sorry I don't even know which one you did, SORRY).
Debbie and Larissa who takes care of all the actors. You all have helped us put the mics on and attend to us whenever we need help.
Michelle, for changing the hairstyles of many actors. And also who have helped with the makeup.
Which reminds me of those actors/backstage people who helped the actors put on makeup for Day 1 and Day 2. This makes things a lot easier and thank you! :)

The opening scene was FABULOUS! It was really good and real. Do not care what the rest says, it's really great. And as what Kenneth says, you are NOT a calefare (I do not know how to spell this).

Anyway, after the four months of hard work, it is finally over! Which brings me to the next topic, FAREWELL!

Hmm, I just want to tell everyone that the we (the sec 4s) did have a lot of fun in these months. Although we may seem very unfriendly and although we don't really mingle with everyone, deep down we love everyone and can't bear to leave. <3
Everyone knows that I can't wait to leave. This is because I've been under stress for a long long time. I think I deserve a break from all these. But this does not mean I have no feelings for drama. It isn't what I love but there are so many happy memories here. The friends that I have made, the things that I have learnt, the fun I had. Everything will stay with me, engraved in my heart. :D
I thank everyone for taking time out today and come and see us for the final time. Today was a really heart warming scene and next year it will happen again. Be prepared. Haha. Anyway, DRAMA ROCKS! And those who are still in it, treasure all your friends here. You will definitely miss them when you are about to leave despite what you may say now.

It turned out better than all of us expected didn't it? (:

I want to apologize for being so negative about this concert in the beginning. I think I'm going to miss it. They should extend the concert, let us do it every night, I can totally do it for a living. LOL (that's just me).

Anyway, I am so proud of all of you. Some of you broke down, but you guys pulled through in the end, and that is so brave. Now that the concert is over, look back, and laugh at how nervous you were at that time. (:

You guys were SO fantastic! No matter what anyone else says, you guys are NOT just "brick by brick" people. You guys are Drama Club Members, and you guys are anything BUT calefare. Without you guys, believe it or not, our starting scene wouldn't be so stunning. With your painted faces and how you guys were walking and all, you guys should be so proud of yourselves. (:

To Everyone Else

I don't know if Joey or Xue er is gonna type something here, but this would probably be my last post. Because as of yesterday, I have graduated from Drama Club. Omgawd, I will miss all of you I am not gonna lie. Y'know, I used to think that this club was so lame and all, but it's because of all of you, every single one of you, even those that I've never spoken to before, that makes this club so fun. I know I must've said or done mean things that have hurt some of you and I wanna apologize for that. (omg my chinese tutor called and said i had tuition yuck)

Our club has so much talent now, I believe that next year, SYF year, you guys will surpass the seniors. You guys wouldn't get a Silver, you guys would get a Gold.

Well, tomorrow's the day, and I guess all of you have the sms from Ms.Pan so there's nothing to blog about here.

Oh yes, everyone please bring like $2 or so tomorrow, and try to eat less carbs because we're buying the cake for William tomorrow. It is Halal donut worry, a fruit cake from four seasons. It is nice donut judge.

So meet at the canteen vending machine at 10:50am and we'll train down to RP.

THOSE WITH COSTUMES AT HOME BRING IT PLEASE. AND EVERYONE PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN COSTUME.

Please don't expect the seniors or the stage managers to bring your costumes for you. They are there to help you yes, but not be your maid. Please have a sense of personal responsibility.

Remember to bring cordless phones, or try to, for those people supposed to.

There is full dress rehearsal at Republic Poly tmrw. (i love bolding the letters its so colourful)

Just a reminder, everyone please try and be in school by 7:15 am, though I know I'll be late because I have no sense of punctuality.

You guys can wear half-U (p.e./drama shirt, sch bottoms), but sec3s must wear sch uniform.

Remember to pass your form teacher the excuse letters!

Sec3s stay in school for the flag raising, run your 2.4 km, try not to die, and we'll see you at RP. :D

This is so that we can all hide in the WOW room and skip a ritual.

And to move props because the bus will be here by 8am.

Actors that need to change (basically everyone), please bring a (preferably) plain t-shirt, or singlet to wear underneath your costumes so you can change backstage. A singlet would be better because the neckline is very low and it won't show above your costumes, so it's safer. (joey i will spray perfume so the singlet i bring for you if you need it smells nice, don't worry it is Cartier).

Those who brought costumes home to wash, remember to bring it too.

There should be make-up tomorrow, so if you can, bring your own facial wash, or whatever vain things you have on your make-up desk (if you have one). If you don't have any vain items, then you can use the drama store's makeup. Donut worry it is not hardened. YET.

Lastly, please listen to Eunice and Jaspreet tomorrow cause they'll be MORE stressed than us. (DON'T WORRY GIRLS)

Okay guys there's totally something bothering the seniors, and I'm just gonna type it here because I don't think any of you would like it if we made all of you stay back after a tiring session, so whoever manages to read this, just remember it and all.

Sometimes when we talk to William, we're very rude. And I mean very very rude.

I know we may be joking sometimes, but there has got to be a boundary to it.

We can shout at him in a joking manner, but most of the times it goes over.

Maybe you guys don't know, but he feels that its rude and he doesn't like it.

The only reason why he doesn't scold us for it is because he knows how hard it is for us to even be in this cca, since it's not a very well-liked cca in school.

So please control yourselves okay? When he asks you guys to do something, just do it. It's tiring, and difficult, and irritating when he scolds us and all, but it's not like he wants to do it.

He has to do it.

And frankly, to the seniors, his way of coaching is very lenient already, with the kind of attitude we've been giving him. Really, we've met pms-sy coaches that would call her colleague after the session to tell her colleague how much we suck. And previously we had a coach that would keep the actors down until 8pm.

William is working.

If he doesn't do well, his pay will be affected. His wife will be affected, his three kids will be affected. And some of us here knows that one of his kids is a newborn baby.

It isn't easy for him.

So please, let's just make this a fun job for him to do, and not a job where he comes and faces annoying, rude brats, that includes me.

I'm not scolding you guys, I'm just saying, y'know. So don't get angry.

The scolding is below.

Another thing is, the things we say, it hurts people.

I won't point out who, but when any of us doesn't have anything nice to say, then please keep quiet.

If it's about a person we can all feel anger or hurt towards, then okay, share your thoughts. But if it's about our own cca members, and it's meant to be a witty joke, well it's not funny. At all.

Don't insult each other, it's already bad enough that no one likes us in school.

Things like personal assaults, or outright insults, don't do it.

It's not humorous at all, nobody laughed in case (this person) noticed, and the only thing you did, was to hurt somebody in our own cca.

The next time I hear things like that, I'll talk to you personally.

The timing for monday sessions has been changed. Instead of having it at 2.30pm, now it has been changed to 3pm. Hence, there is no reason for you to be late. Mondays will be with Ms. Nina and wednesday with Ms. Mcnoe. Mondays, we are using wow room (unless Mr. White sms otherwise) and wednesday the AVA/Seminar Room. For Ms. Mcnoe's session, always be in drama shirts. Actually with Ms. Nina too, but just that she's not that particular about it. :)
Some of you might have heard that the combined drama performance with other schools have been cancelled. Yes, it has. We are preparing for next year's production for a musical with the other performing arts group. So now you do not need to do any more research about "this-year's" production.

Neena, our SYF coach, is coming down to meet us on 17 June, wednesday, 10am.

She wants to hear all of our proposals and ideas.

Please contact anybody you need to contact, for e.g. Catering service, portable toilets

DO NOT ENGAGE THEM YET

Contact them to check for the price, then we can estimate our budget.

For the marketing department, please contact the sponsors you have in mind and ask like, how will they be helping us, e.g Free Drinks, $$ (the best), blahblah

Get together in your departments and discuss a little before 17 June.

For people who get a little pissy when given vague instructions (like me), discuss about

How are you guys going to ask the sponsors (call/email/terrorist threat)
How are you guys going to split the workload (which isn't a lot)
How are you guys going to compile the information (microsoft word la duh)
etc.

Do it over email, over conference, over maplestory, anything.

CCA schedule during the june holidays

Ok, good news (for people who don't like turning up for cca, just like me-sometimes)!
This june holiday, we are only having actual drama sessions from the third week onwards (that's what mr white says).
BUT, don't be happy too soon, he also said that we can start to meet up to discuss plans ready to meet up with ms nina.
Which also means that the decision will be up to us. I don't want to force everyone back, but we need to fix up a date to see how each group's progress have been and also to discuss as a whole becasue it's a big project.
And I know of some people who wants a drama day camp to play, bond, blah blah. If majority wants, I don't think the seniors mind right? Let's just see the response first before we decide.
People, if you wish to leave Singapore, please do so in the first two weeks of the holiday so that when it comes to the third week, we can have full attendance. :) Thanks a lot.

We went to watch Fairytale Heart today and yes, it was five bucks well spent yeah? (:
It was really good.

Well, i hoped you guys noticed their blocking, their expressions, their intonations, their actions, their characterisation. I hope you guys would take all these that you have seen and keep it because by watching, we're learning more than you think. (:

Remember how the actors snap in and out of many different characters, their old self, their prince/princess self, and the part that they hide from the rest of the world.
Like the guy, he didn't want people to say 'HAH!' to him, and the girl and her dad's girlfriend with big boobs.

Notice how they switch their moods and their characters. Okay i've used the word 'character' more than five times.

Basically, Hermia loves Lysander.

But Hermia, having noob parents, is engaged to Demetrius.

Then Helena pops out of the Big Courtroom Scene, falls for Demetrius.

But Demetrius loves Hermia.

So Hermia, trying to be punk, eloped with Lysander and stumbles onto Oberon and Titania, the fairy King/Queen.

The King and Queen were arguing, and the King, being the immature male that he is, wants revenge.

So the King asked his slave, Puck, to play a trick on the queen that concerns mortals.

The result is a charming and engaging story of magic and mishap that will captivate audiences young and old.

It is 33$ per ticket and mr.White has set aside some money to co-pay. Tickets are selling fast.

Oh man, someone should seriously update the blog. Like, edit the links and add the membership thing.
I'm not good with names.

Today was SYF, and i just want to say a big THANK YOU on behalf of the cast members to the props people. We know that it's been really tough on you guys and on some occasions, you guys have been treated really unfairly, and yet you guys did not show any attitude, but instead gave us the support we needed.

Thank you so much, we could never have done it without you guys. (:
You guys rawkxzxz.

And to the cast members.

I just want to say that it has been a very exhausting, tiring and yet exciting journey that we have decided to embark on.
This is a mountain that seemed too big to climb, and yet we chose to climb it with determination that we will overcome it.

Every single one of you is important to the production.
There is no such thing as 'more important' or 'less important'.
Everybody is a star, and everybody is crucial to how successful the play would work out.

Some of us may have been treated very unfairly, and i just want to apologise that i have been unable to do anything about it. I want you guys to know that i have seen this injustice and i know what you guys are going through. I want to thank you guys for sticking with us and persevering through, all the way to the end. This play would be impossible without you guys!

Remember: The effort we have put in belongs to us. No one can take it away from us.

All in all, we are not two separate entities.
We are not divided into 'PROP PEOPLE' and 'ACTORS'.
No.
Ultimately , we are one big group.
We have done this together, as one big group.
A group from the start, a group to the end.
Let us continue, so that from a group, we may become, a family.

From today onwards, a new chapter begins. Two of our awesome seniors will be stepping down.
I must say that i for one will definitely miss them.
From this day onwards, we do not have a senior-junior relationship with them anymore, but a friend relationship.
It is a bittersweet experience that each of us must learn to embrace.
We will never forget the memories shared with these two amazing seniors, especially those who have been in drama since 2007.
We love you guys.

mr white went around tellng us in the morning that SYF IS ON SEVENTH APRIL. so jiayous people. and main cast, i suggest you start memorising your lines now. it's just a suggestion, not an order. and i'm just saying it because we only have 7 weeks left. if you don't care whatever i say, i can't do anything. drama is your cca, so is mine. i don't want people to think that i'm so extra to say things when i'm not even in main cast.
and another thing, mr white said that mr lim (yes, the principal) is joining us for drama on monday (2302). so let's just standardise to wear orange drama tee, ok? i know people don't read this blog. so if you see this, wear orange. but if people don't, then forget it. just wear whatever is it. plus the sec ones don't have the drama tee. so never mind. -.-

if you aint sastified with the skin, bang your head on the wall till you bleed cause' i spent at least 3hours +plusplus designing this skin excluding playing with the codes.

Thursday, 4 December 2008 11.00am to 2pm – break – 2.30pm to 5.30pm
Friday, 5 December 2008 11.00am to 2pm – break – 2.30pm to 5.30pm
Thursday, 11 December 2008 10.00am to 1pm – break – 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Friday, 12 December 2008 10.00am to 1pm – break – 2.00pm to 5.00pm

And most likely, it will be held at the Act 3 premises.
The confirmed venue and other details will be told to you soon.

before the instructor comes, he don't want us to meet but can't do anything.
rather, he wants us to go home and read through the script.
practically memorise it.
because once we start, we are like continuing till syf.

in the meantime of not having cca now,
do memorise the script (if you can) and do the necessary preparations you need.

not in acting, but as in backstage crew.

please inform your parents that it will end very late everyday.

meals and drinks will be provided.

the full dress rehearsal for the musical is 26th nov.
so we are in it from the 26th to 29th nov.
there are two show times per day. afternoon and evening.
mr white said we will take turns to watch the musical itself.

so wednesday 26th nov, report in school by 10am in dark attire.
cause' we are backstage crew ma.
the shoes are alright but your top and bottom, try to be in dark attire la.

this is what i got from my friends:

1.one part fanny forgot what she is suppose to say and stuttered.
2.the door is left open to let random people walk in and out.
3.grandmother(malay),mother(malay),young daughter(chinese?!),teacher fanny(chinese),going die fanny(malay) -.- never even talk about father.
4.She is said to forget things easily and forgot if Sophie had came few minutes ago but she can remember the name of that guy who met her last time and able to remember so much of her childhood.
5.If the teacher was blind they could just leave secretly or maybe don't come at all.
6.This is the worst part.THEY DID NOT NOTICE THAT FANNY WAS DEAD SINCE Sophie LEFT!!!
7.I thought Sophie and Fanny were about the same age when they were young,how come only Fanny became like a old grandma while Sophie remained quite young.

anyways i think props..we were GOOD(:

ytd was the concert. even though i was damn scared and nervous, everyone tried cooling me down. now, that is called BONDED!!!
and i think i made parmish sooo scared that she cried.
we were like damn nervous but everyone did well.
emcees, u both did a very good job! WELL DONE! dun mind that blinker and that duck. they can't even do the emcee, so they can't complain. but u both did a good job.
denise and isabelle forgot part of ur lines but it was alright. u both copvered it up quite first.
isabelle and joey, the changing was tough, but we pulled through.
non acting ppl, u all helped in the props and costume which was very good.
everything went on quite well. =D
SO EVERYONE DID A GREAT JOB!!!
